Chocolate Macaroons

3 c. dried coconut flakes
1.5 c. cacao powder
1 c. maple syrup
1/3c. coconut butter
1 T. vanilla extract
1/2 t. salt

Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl. With an ice cream scoop, tablespoon measure or your hands, spoon rounds of dough on parchment paper. Dehydrate 115 degrees for ~12 hours or until outside is crisp and inside is chewy.

I made about half a recipe and it made about 20 macaroons when scooped out with a tablespoon measure. The macaroons are really yummy but I think I liked them better before they were dehydrated because they reminded me of brownie batter. I think I could reduce the liquid and make un-dehydrated chocolate coconut balls that would be really good.
